The Turkish Angora belongs to the group of semi-longhaired cats. It is graceful and lithe, with universally good proportions. The body is finely boned, with light frame. The trunk is slender, at the rear slightly higher than in the front. The head is set on a slender, graceful neck of middle length, and it is small to medium sized, wedge-shaped, broad on the upper side and slightly narrowing to the tip towards the chin. The chin is gently rounded. The nose is medium in length, without a stop. Ears are large, pointed, wide at the base and well furnished and tufted; they are placed high on the head and erect. Eyes are large, almond-shaped and slanting slightly upward. Legs are long, hind legs are longer than the front. Paws of Turkish Angora are small, dainty and round. Tufts of hair between toes are preferable. The tail is long, broad at the base and tapering to a narrow end, with a full brush. It is carried lower than the body, but not dragged. When the cat is moving the tail is carried horizontally and sometimes it almost touches the head. The coat is medium length on the whole body, on the frill it is long. It is silky, draped, on the belly slightly wavy, without an undercoat. The hairs are very fine and they have a silky shine.
